Rumours, speculation and estimations can finally be put to rest; Konami’s Director of Public Relations has spilt the beans on every Metal Gear over at the official Playstation Blog.
Update: Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH have announced via Press Release that Metal Gear Solid 4 will be released in Europe, North America and Japan on June 12th, 2008
Included with MGS4 is the Metal Gear Online Starter Pack; an online, 16 player, squad-based tactical shooter. Starting on April 21st, MGO will feature a Beta program, exclusively for those who pre-order the game after April 2008, in the United States. MGS fans who Pre-order will receive a “Metal Gear Saga 2.0” DVD with plenty of bonus content and instructions for downloading the beta. No information on Europeans getting a taste of the beta has been announced.
Also over the pond, PS3 lingerers (or those with very full wallets) can purchase their copy of MGS 4 alongside a special edition version of the console. The PS3 will (apparently) feature Metal Gear art and (officially) include an 80GB hard drive and a Dual Shock 3 (the SixAxis with rumble), all for only $499.99

Umm didnt Konami state they were trying for a worldwide release?
It’s been in discussion, but the Playstation Blog is very careful in saying “in North America”. I’m sure Konami Europe will pipe up soon with confirmation.
Wow look at what The Americans get for the equivalent of £250 they are so spoiled! and they still whinge on about the price! It has come to my attention just how tight fisted Americans can be. They don’t know how lucky they are, they would have an apoplexy if they ever had to live in UK and cope with “treasure island’s” prices lol
SRsly, that is an incredible value bundle they are getting there..I think there will be a huge surge in PS3 sales in the States when this pack goes to retail.
