Unlike Battlefield: Bad Company, where players have had their stats removed unannounced, Race Driver GRID’s statistic reset is intentional.
On a community forum post to players, Codemasters Motorsport Boss Rich Tysoe regrets the need to strip racers of hard earned ranks and statistics, but saw it as a necessary evil to thwart cheaters.
“Given the number of reports we’ve had of people abusing the ranking system to get unfair ranks,” says Tysoe, “it was only fair that we did a reset.”
When it comes to things that rock about GRID; resetting your hard earned accomplishments isn’t one of them.
“It’s never an easy decision to make, and we’d rather it hadn’t come to this, but changes in the patch should make gaining those ranking points back fairer.”
