Activision Blizzard, a cataclysmic combination of Guitar Hero and World of Warcraft (not in one game, mind you), issued a release schedule of upcoming games, which left various high profile titles mysteriously absent.
The schedule confirmed a number of forthcoming releases from Sierra (deemed less important that Warcraft devs, Blizzard, when it came to naming the merger), which were limited to Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, The Mummy and an Ice Age sequel. Alongside these family friendly titles, references to continued support for Prototype and an unannounced title were made.
An Activision representative later confirmed for GameSpot.com that those would be the only Vivendi Games franchises coming out of the publisher.
Noticeably absent were titles such as Ghostbusters, 50 Cent, Brutal Legend and Wet. These titles have been left in limbo as Activision debates how and when to sell these titles to other publishing houses.
None of these games have been cancelled, but all have been dropped by Activision as publisher. Development studios such as Double Fine (Brutal Legend) will have to find new publishers for their upcoming games.

So it has started.
Welcome to the downfall of the videogame industry.
I’m pretty sure no-one’s going to miss the absence of the 50 Cent game though. ;)
