Bethesda has announced a release date for Post Nuclear Apocalypse Simulator, Fallout 3.
The game will be available to purchase in North America on October 28th, and in Europe on October 31st, 2008. The game is in development for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.
While the first two isometric RPGs were created by Black Isle Studios, the third title in the series is being created by Bethesda Softworks, creators of The Elder Scrolls Series.
Fallout 3 features one of the most realized game worlds ever created. Set more than 200 years following a nuclear war, you can create any kind of character you want and explore the open wastes of Washington, D.C however you choose. Every minute is a fight for survival as you encounter Super Mutants, Ghouls, Raiders, and other dangers of the Wasteland.
The company also released these three screenshots to coincide with the news.

From all the previews I’ve seen it seems like the combat will be crap, Bethesda just can’t do combat….but I expect the general feel of wandering around the world will be amazing, Bethesda are unrivalled in this respect. I’m looking forward to dedicating a few hundred hours of my life to this game.
