Button Masher – EA “Mirror’s Edge will not be a Timed Exclusive for PS3″
Rumours have materialised regarding the exclusivity of EA and DICE’s first-person-parkour game, Mirror’s Edge.
German website Heise Online (from publishing house Heinz Heise) has printed a quote from SCEE’s David Reeves which says (after translation).
“Third-Party Title as mirrors Edge by Electronic Arts are part of this strategy. “ According to Reeves Mirrors Edge will initially exclusively for the PS3 this year. PC and Xbox 360 versions would follow much later.”
Heise followed this up with game developer, DICE who said:
“We know so far nothing. But it is possible that there is collusion at the highest level, of which we are still not informed.” So far, the developers assume that Mirror’s Edge will release at year-end on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC simultaneously.”
While Reeves’ statement should substantiate the rumour, there is a language barrier to consider, as well as the recent LittleBigPlanet debacle.

Recent exclusivity stories have been Assassin’s Creed (which was announced as PS3 exclusive, but simultaneously launched on 360), HAZE (which was considered a multi-platform game, but turned out to be a PS3 exclusive) and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, which was timed-exclusive to Playstation 2, but only in Europe.
