T3h Beginning

Well, this is the beginning, or t3h beginning as it says in the comic title which I might have thought was cool back when I made this strip, which I should point out was not August 24, 2008 but actually some time in 2004. However, I didn’t think very far ahead when it came to making the early strips (truth be told, I didn’t think much of anything when I made the early strips. Or the newer ones, for that matter…) and forgot to put any kind of timestamp on the issues. JPEG files seem to carry a “date last modified” tag, but PNGs do not. I managed to piece together from what little timestamped work I had in the early  days to sum up that The Pixel began some time in 2004.

As for the content of this first issue, it’s pretty much just ripped straight from an MSN Messenger conversation I had with Jon while listening to Little Britain on radio (before the TV series really got rolling in the public eye and their catchphrases ruined everything). The set-up with the chair, computer and gradient background was lifted out of Jonathan and Link, a webcomic by Jon that was in itself lifted right out of Real Life. The comic strip Real Life, not real life, although the gimmick with Real Life was that it was based on real life. When the cast of Real Life all got mechas and moved to a space station in outer space, I think the real life aspect of Real Life became less real. Word life!
